Sheryl Nelson


Sheryl has been a partner with CCG since joining the firm in 2000. The emphasis of her practice is business and transactional law. Over her 25-year career, Sheryl has counseled clients on a wide range of issues facing companies of all sizes, including public and privately-held companies. Throughout her career at CCG, Sheryl has managed legal teams in complex commercial transactions for the firm’s clients. Her experience with commercial contracts is particularly noteworthy and has involved drafting and negotiating construction agreements, intellectual property licensing agreements, domestic and international distribution and sales representative agreements, and exclusive purchase and supply contracts, to name a few. Sheryl also advises clients on other types of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, restrictive covenants, standard terms and conditions of purchase and sale, consulting agreements, supply chain agreements such as warehousing and toll manufacturing agreements, and transportation agreements involving rail, motor vehicles, barges and vessels. Her practice also involves advising clients on commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition and sale of real property and retail, office and industrial leases. Clients count on Sheryl’s practical advice when it comes to their strategic planning initiatives, which frequently involve business acquisitions and divestitures.

Sheryl has extensive experience in corporate compliance matters. She designs compliance programs, trains senior management and other employees, and investigates internal compliance issues. She helps clients mitigate their legal risk exposure by consulting with them on compliance topics such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption, international operations, and codes of business conduct and ethics. Her counseling of clients on risk management issues also includes working with C-Suite and other senior executives on enterprise risk management evaluations and initiatives.

The clients Sheryl works with engage in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, health care, title lending, and unmanned aerial systems operation and consulting.
